The Coalition will also strengthen the systems for the detection and identification of African assets in foreign jurisdictions towards recovering the assets.

The ICPC boss also disclosed that the Federal Government of Nigeria was currently reviewing legacy transactions in oil and gas, tax investments and the use of waivers in Nigeria in order to curb IFFs.
Malami, who spoke at the International Conference on IFFs and Asset Recovery organised by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, also disclosed that over $700 million stolen funds from Nigeria has been returned to the country in the last four years.
A statement by Azuka Ogugua, spokesperson for ICPC said the international conference, which will hold both physically and virtually on Tuesday, 18th May and Wednesday, 19th May, 2021, is jointly organised by Nigeria’s anti-corruption agency, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Inter-Agency Committee on Stopping IFFs from Nigeria, African Union Advisory Board on Corruption (AUABC), and the Coalition for Dialogue on Africa (CoDA).
