The Coalition of Civil Society Monitoring Groups on Insurgency in the North-East said in Abuja on Wednesday at a news conference that a request to this effect should be presented to the Federal Government by the military, which should in turn treat the increase of troops as a national emergency. 

Addressing journalists in Kaduna, Kaduna State, the President of Borno Civil Society Organizations for Peace, Shettima Pindar, said what the region earnestly needed at this moment was for brotherly love to return and for everyone, including repentant terrorists, to be part of the peace process to make the North East in particular and Nigeria great again

According to a 12-point Communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, signed by the CSPDN National Chairman, Dr. Uzodinma Adirieje; the Chairman, Communiqué Drafting Committee, John Akuse; and six other CSOs representatives – one from each of the six geopolitical zones – the third sector representatives articulated several points, which they consider very critical fto the continued existence and progress of the country
