The Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, on Monday tasked the judiciary to come up with innovative models to vigorously tackle delay in justice delivery, saying it was time for all stakeholders to engender speedy and efficient administration of justice system in the country.
The Lagos State Judiciary delivered a total of 23,900 judgments within the last one year, according to the state Chief Judge, Justice Opeyemi Oke.
Speaking to reporters at a special thanksgiving service to mark Ademowo’s 70th birthday and retirement, held at Cathedral Church of Christ, Marina in Lagos, Ambode commended the clergyman for serving the State meritoriously, saying it was not in doubt that he made significant impact to the development of the State and the nation in general.
Ambode said this at a service held at the Cathedral Church of Christ in Marina to commemorate the commencement of the 2017/2018 Golden Jubilee New Legal Year of the State’s Judiciary.
