Speaking at the event held at the PMT Corporate Headquarters in Enugu, Oyeyemi restated the commitment of the FRSC to pursuit of road safety policies and programmes

He said 358 people sustained various degrees of injuries, while 165 of the victims were rescued alive from the crashes

According to Bisi Kazeem, the Head of Media Relations and Strategy of the FRSC, in a press release, Oyeyemi said about 1.25 million people die each year as a result of road traffic crashes, which have become the leading causes of death among people of ages between 15 to 29

Oyeyemi was quoted as having said in the paper: “Because of increased support in 2015, total fatality reduced to 5,044 from 5,991 in 2014 while Total RTC reduced to 9,031 compared to 10,380 in 2014, which amounts to 12.99 per cent RTC reduction
