The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria has set up a five-man Electoral Committee to conduct election into the national offices of the body within the next 90 days.
In a communiqué issued at the end of its emergency full council meeting in Kano, Kano State, SWAN named members of the Electoral Committee as Umar Said of Bauchi State as Chairman, Norbert Okolie of Enugu State as Secretary and Bunmi Adedoyin of Kwara State, Jibo Zakari of Yobe State and Dipo Okubanjo of Lagos State as members.
The meeting observed that several efforts made to elect new officials for the Association had failed to yield result due to the security challenges facing the nation as well as finances.
The body praised the Kano State Government for hosting the full council meeting.
The National Delegates Conference is tentatively fixed for Makurdi, Benue State on a yet-to-determined date.
