The Benue State Police Command has confirmed the killing of four persons by suspected cultists at a beer parlour in Makurdi, the state capital.
The spokesperson of the command, Superintendent of Police Sewuese Anene, confirmed this on Monday in a chat with journalists.
Anene said the attack, which took place on Sunday night at a beer parlour at Akpehe in Makurdi, also left many people hospitalised.

She said: “The suspected cult attack at Akpehe is confirmed and investigation has commenced.
“Four persons were confirmed dead while others are currently receiving treatment in the hospital.”
Anene warned criminals in the state to desist from crimes or be prepared to face the full wrath of the law.
