The Super Eagles team and their Chief Coach, Stephen Keshi, were all smiles as they received a tumultuous and encouraging welcome to the United States of America from journalists and fans as the Nigerian senior national team touched down in Houston, United States of America safely on Tuesday at about 2.40pm local time (8.40pm Nigeria time) for the much publicised grade A friendly match against the national team of Mexico, slated for Friday.
After Airport formalities, the team arrived its Westin Galleries Hotel in west Alabama, Huston at 4.20 pm local time, had lunch and trained at 7.30pm (1.30am Nigeria time).
Keshi said “All is well with the team and we are looking forward to a great game against Mexico on Friday.”
There was a short press interaction with the local press and members of the team and the Chief Coach at the Huston International Airport.
Keshi stated that while taking the game against Mexico seriously, it will afford him to try some players in preparation for
the Africa World Cup qualifying matches with Kenya and Namibia respectively.
While rating Mexico highly, he further said they will not find it easy against Nigeria.
