In a move that is considered as shocking, the Coach of Sunshine FC of Akure, Ondo State, Gbenga Ogunbote, has resigned.
Ogunbote, who led Sunshine to a semi-final outing in the Confederation of African Football Champions League a forthnight ago, it was learnt, tendered his resignation on Tuesday.
Ogunbote has been with the team in the last three years.
He did not give any specific reason for his decision.
He simply said it was for personal reasons.
He added: “I did my best for the club.”
As at press time, there has been no official confirmation from the club.
The management of the club is led by Chief Segun Adagunodo.
