The Golden Eaglets’ four-goal hero against the Black Starlets of Ghana, Isaac Success, has been picked as the team’s vice-captain by team’s Head Coach, Manu Garba.
According to the coach, Success was picked as the deputy to Musa Muhammed for his exemplary conduct both on and off the pitch in recent time.
“I’m so happy with Success,” Garba said as he strolled into the dressing room after the 6-1 whitewash of Ghana on Sunday.
This was revealed by the Team’s Media Officer, Morakinyo Abodunrin, to The Eagle Online sports from Morocco on Monday afternoon.
Abodunrin also quoted the coach as saying: “I wanted to make a formal announcement to the players that he’s now the team’s vice captain but I held back because of some other factors but he has convinced us of his leadership qualities.”
Success has indeed grown in stature since he strolled uninvited into the team’s practice pitch at U.J. Esuene Sports Stadium a year ago.
“Success has the attributes of a good striker,” Garba once said. “He’s strong on the ball, very effective and always ready to learn
