The South Africa chapter of the All Progressives Grand Alliance says it will host an investors forum in 2018 to attract investment to Anambra.
Henry Onyekumnaru, its Chairman, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Durban, KwaZulu Natal Province of South Africa on Friday that the group has commenced preparations for the event.
Onyekumnaru said: “We are working with Ethekwini Municipality in the province to host the forum in Durban.
“It is aimed at showcasing Anambra state’s potentials in oil and gas, agriculture, commerce, and trade.
“We believe that South African investors can assist the state to develop her full agricultural potentials, especially in sorghum production, rice, poultry and training of agricultural personnel.”
The chairman said the chapter would invite Governor Willie Obiano of Abia State to address the forum and expose the potentials of the state.
He said: “We are happy that the state government has created the enabling environment for investment to thrive. This is our own way of contributing to the development of our state.”
Chukwudi Egwutuoha, the APGA youth leader in South Africa, on his part, said the Anambra State airport project at Umuleri would attract more investments to the state.
Egwutuoha said: “We are happy that the airport project has commenced. When completed, we are optimistic that investors at home and abroad will key into the oil and gas sector, agriculture, commerce, and trade.
“Anambra indigenes in the Diaspora have been clamouring for this great opportunity to give something back to the society.”
Egwutuoha further said that the group was working hard to attract investors from South Africa to develop key sectors in the state.
