Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company has donated two buses and renovated a clinic at the SOS Children’s Village in Isolo, Lagos.
Tony Attah, the Managing Director of the company, announced the donation and renovation during a party for children in the village to mark the end of the year.
The party was sponsored by SNEPco.
Attah was represented by Dr. Femi Oduneye, the company’s Regional Health Manager, Sub-Saharan Africa.
Attah said that the aim was to provide support to the children.
He noted that the future of Nigeria lied with the country’s children.
He said: “I commend the management and staff of the village for their dedication in ensuring that the children get the best healthcare and education possible.
“Charitable organisations such as yours are performing a valuable service to children who may one day lead this nation.
“Your passion and commitment to these children was a factor in our decision to host the end of the year charity activity.
“It is our hope that these buses will provide a safe and comfortable alternative to get kids to and from school.”
Attah said that SNEPco was determined to ensure that communities benefitted from its presence.
“These donations are in line with that commitment and we will continue to support partners who share our values,” he said.
Erhumwunse Eghosa, the National Director of the village, thanked SNEPco for the support.
Eghosa urged other companies to emulate SNEPco in assisting the less privileged.
