The Managing Director Shell Nigeria Gas (SNG) Ralph Gbobo made this known in Lagos recently.
It was recognised for its Titanium sponsorship of the conference, the highest category, and third Best Exhibitor out of 64 companies.
The new Non-Associated Gas (NAG) development project will deliver approximately 350 million standard cubic feet of gas per day (mmscf/d) from 2028, equivalent to almost a third of the requirements of Nigeria LNG Limited’s Train 7 project.
Managing Director, Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited (SNEPCo), Ronald Adams made the remark while opening a panel session at the ongoing annual international conference and exhibition of the Nigeria Section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) in Lagos yesterday.
It comes as Shell received an award for the Bonga North FID at the opening ceremony.
Also supporting the event are Nigeria LNG (NLNG) and Shell Nigeria, two major players in the country’s energy and development sectors.
Speaking at a panel session at the 2025 Nigeria Oil and Gas Conference in Abuja , Managing Director, Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited (SNEPCo), Ronald Adams, referred to the expansion of its stake in the Bonga field, the FID on Bonga North and several other projects being considered, including Bonga Southwest and HI, as Shell’s vote of confidence in the future of Nigeria.
The coalition in a news conference in Abuja on Monday, urged all stakeholders to reject Shell’s divestment, alleging that it was an attempt to escape justice and its uncompromising accountability.
The Executive Vice President Nigeria, Marno de Jong, will take on the additional responsibilities of being the Country Chair Nigeria of Shell as he leaves.
“This event is special to the Shell brand, not only because of the nostalgia of Oloibiri but the quality of discourse it has enabled in our sector over the years,” SNEPCO Managing Director Ronald Adams said in a goodwill speech delivered by General Manager, Wells and Geosciences Operations Joe Mordi.
The 4.5km Ilogbo road provides access to some 75 communities and was in a bad state until both companies who operate in the area intervened.

Ralph described infrastructure as the bedrock of a thriving gas industry, citing the Escravos – Lagos Pipeline System (ELPS) which feeds the domestic gas market as an example.
Jong added: “Sustained reforms will boost production further and generate better returns in the entire value chain of the industry.
The award, received by Senior Vice President, Nigeria Marno de Jong, celebrates the contributions of Shell companies in Nigeria.
“Our shared goal of harnessing the earth’s resources responsibly and efficiently requires continuous cooperation and synergy between us.”
The remark was made by the General Manager, Nigeria Content Development of The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited, Olanrewaju Olawuyi, at a panel session on: “Local Content Private Sector,” at the ongoing Sub-Saharan Africa International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference in Lagos.
The trainees acquired skills in aquaculture, bee keeping, goat rearing, snail and cassava/plantain farming and grass cutter technology.
“Deep water is a compelling consideration for Nigeria if the country must meet its oil production targets and implement ambitious development programmes,” Adams said while speaking at the 9th Sub-Saharan Africa International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (SAIPEC) which began in Lagos on Tuesday.
