The Controller of Kaduna Prisons, Abubakar Argungu, has said the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, Sheikh Ibrahim Zakazaky, was not in his custody.
Argungu said this in reaction to the news that Zakzaky was in the custody of the prison.
He said: “We only have 191 followers of the Islamic Movement in our custody.
“But we do not have their leader, Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky, with us.”
There was tension in Kaduna on Tuesday over the news of Zakzaky’s arraignment at an unknown court in the town, which is the capital of Kaduna State.
Argungu equally gave the names of the 191 members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria in the prison.
