Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, has advised Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun to consolidate on the peace and tranquility established by his predecessor.
Mustapha made the call on Thursday in Abuja during a courtesy visit by the governor.
He said it would be good for the governor to build on the former Governor Rauf Adegbesola’s legacies in terms of youth empowerment and infrastructural development.
The SGF said that Osun was one of the states in the country that rolled out programmes designed to take youths away from the streets and provide them with means of livelihoods.
Mustapha pledged the commitment of the Federal Government to support the governor to ensure that the mandate given to the governor by the people was secured.
He said that the idea was to enable the governor to concentrate and focus on delivering the gains and dividends of democracy that the people rightly deserved.
According to him, I believe that you will receive the support of the Federal Government because President Muhammadu Buhari has demonstrated that he is the father of the nation.
He said: ‘‘I remember in the past, when they used to effect those payments; they were done selectively but under President Buhari, everybody gets what they are entitled to regardless of political party affiliation.
“Because of his believe in integrity, he will always insist on equity, fairness and justice and this has been rewarded with a new mandate from Nigerians and there cannot be better reward than that.”
The SGF pledged the commitment of the Federal Government to consolidate on the various interventions to ensure that state governments were stable to deliver democracy dividends to Nigerians.
In his remark, Oyetola said that the visit was to thank the SGF for his role in the election that brought his administration into being and the victory of President Buhari in the February 23 election.
He solicited for the support of the Federal Government to ensure that the gains and dividends of democracy were delivered to the people of the state.
