Seven arrested for hacking into Customs’ website

Wale Adeniyi, the National Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Customs Service, said on Thursday that the service had arrested seven suspects, who allegedly hacked into the customs’ website.
Adeniyi told the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos that the suspects had been charged to court.
He said: “The seven suspects hacked into our website, saying that they are offering employment and selling auction papers by the customs to the public.
“We were able to arrest them.
“We used forensic investigation to arrest them.
“So, they are undergoing trials now.”
He said that the suspects were placed under surveillance from March till the date of their arrest.
Adeniyi advised the public to be sceptical of internet job offers as most of the characters behind them were only out defraud innocent citizens.
According to him, the NCS does not offer jobs online, noting that its employment exercises involved physical assessment of applicants.
