The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mahmud Mohammed, and senators on Monday supported the anti-social media bill.
They lamented the increase in number of frivolous petitions.
However, the Attorney General of Federation and Minister of Justice, Malami Abubakar, and the Nigerian Law Reform kicked against the bill, saying the objectives of the bill is against public interest.
Senators who aligned themselves with position of Chief Justice of Nigeria are Senator James Manager and Senator Godswill Akpabio.
