The Senate on Wednesday set up an ad-hoc Committee to investigate the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Dr. Baru Maikanti, over allegations of insubordination by the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu.
The Minister had in the leaked letter accused Baru of insubordination and called for cancellation of the recent appointments in the NNPC.
He also said the NNPC GMD unilaterally approved $25 billion contracts without recourse to him or the Board of the NNPC.
The Senate in its resolution on the matter on Wednesday set up an ad-hoc committee to investigate it.
The Chairman of the ad-hoc committee is Senator Aliyu Wammako.
The members are Senators Rose Ojo, Kabiru Marafa, Bashir Babakaka, Albert Akpan, Chukwuka Utazi and Tayo Alasoadura.
