Seme Customs Command generates N446m revenue in April

The Seme Command of Nigeria Customs Service says it generated N446.6 million in April.
The command’s spokesman, Ernest Olottah, told the News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday in Badagry that the revenue was about N54 million lower than that of March.
Olottah said that command also made 132 seizures made up of cars, rice, vegetable oil, second-hand clothing, bags, shoes, textile materials, frozen poultry products and liquors.
He said that eight suspects were arrested for various offences during the period and advised members of the public to shun smuggling because of its danger to the economy.
He said: “We are appealing to members of the public to shun smuggling and do their businesses legitimately.
“In importing and exporting of any product, all protocols must be followed and that include paying levies and duties to the customs.”
