The Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, Dr. Bukola Saraki, on Friday donated N2.5 million to the University of IIorin for the best graduating students in medicine and political science.
The senator’s Director of Publicity, Alhaji Kayode Lakadri, presented a cheque worth the amount to the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali, in Ilorin.
In a message, Saraki said the gesture was in honour of the late political icon, Dr. Abubakar Olusola Saraki.
He said the donation would henceforth be an annual prize award in the name of the late Saraki.
The senator congratulated Unilorin “for providing sound education in a well-structured academic environment for students.”
Responding, the vice chancellor thanked Saraki for the kind gesture.
He pledged to use the money accordingly.
