Former President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has congratulated former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, on his appointment by the Chairperson of the African Union to serve as the AU High Representative for the Horn of Africa.
Saraki congratulated Obasanjo in a statement by the Abubakar Bukola Saraki Media Office on Saturday.
The former two-term Kwara State Governor stated that Obasanjo’s appointment was a testament to his “profound experience and widespread network across the continent and the world”, adding that he was sure that it would make Nigeria proud.
He said: “I congratulate H.E. President Olusegun Obasanjo on his appointment as the African Union (AU) High Representative for the Horn of Africa.
“As the AU continues to work to promote peace and stability in and amongst its Member States, President Obasanjo’s profound experience and widespread network across the continent and the world will undoubtedly help to meet these objectives.
“As he begins this strategic assignment on behalf of the continent, I wish our former President success — and know that he will make our nation proud.”
