FC IfeanyiUbah of Nnewi goalkeeper, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, has been named the new skipper of the home-based Super Eagles.
The new changes was posted on the official Twitter handle of the national team: @NGSuperEagles, on Wednesday.
According to the Twitter handle: “Coach Salisu Yusuf names Ikechukkwu Ezenwa as Captain and Chima Akas as Vice captain of the CHAN team.”
It can be recalled that Akas led the team to a bronze medal win at the last edition of the tournament in Rwanda.
Meanwhile, the new skipper earned his first call up to the Super Eagles in 2015 under Sunday Oliseh and he is also a member of the team in the World cup and Nations Cup qualifiers.
Nigeria will lock horns with their West African neighbours, with the first leg taking place on the weekend of August 11 to 13 in Cotonou, and the return leg in Nigeria on August 19 in the final round of Championship of African Nations qualifier.
