Brendan Rogers has warned Mario Balotelli that he will investigate the Italian’s shirt-swapping antics with Pepe during Liverpool’s 3-0 defeat to Real Madrid at Anfield.
The former AC Milan player swapped shirts with the Real defender as the Reds trudged off the field at half-time following goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema.
Liverpool fans took to Twitter attacking the summer signing for his lack of respect and motivation.
When questioned about the issue following the game, Rodgers admitted he will take the appropriate actions to deal with his misfiring striker.
Rodgers said: “That’s the first I’ve heard of it, but it’s something I don’t like to see.
“It’s certainly something that doesn’t happen here and shouldn’t happen here.
“We had an incident like this last year and I’ll deal with this as well.”
