The Interim State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State, Chief Davies Ibiamu, said on Tuesday that the party was ready to conduct election in 319 wards in the state.
Ibiamu told the News Agency of Nigeria in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, that arrangements had been concluded for the ward congress, scheduled for April 5.
He said: “For each ward, 22 officials and four ex-officio members will be elected.
“We will also elect delegates for the local government and state congresses.
“The spirit is very high and members are willing to ensure a successful ward congress.”
Ibiamu also said security would be tight during the ward congress and warned that party would not condone acts of indiscipline from members.
The chairman urged members to conduct themselves in an orderly manner to ensure successful ward congress.
