Gabriel Reuben was not part of the training on Friday when the Super Eagles had their last work out at the Guarani FC Stadium in Campinas, Brazil.
Reuben, who was only involved in light walk with an official of the team, is technically ruled out of Nigeria’s first game against Iran holding in Curitiba on Monday.
“He is getting better, we expect him to be ready for other games after the first one. That is why he was asked to rest not to complicate issues,” Head Coach, Stephen Keshi, said.
Twenty-two other players trained on Friday, with a huge crowd in attendance to cheer them at the stadium.
Some young football fans went as far as encroaching the field in an attempt to touch the players.
This kept the security operatives very busy as they ran after the fans to protect the players who were busy training.
