Selected footballers from within Rivers State who excelled in various youth and state run competitions during the year will have a chance to play for Dolphins FC as the former League champions begins an Open Week.
The General Manager of Dolphins FC, Dumbor Awanen, said it is a plan for bring younger players who can be of benefit to the club in the long term into the fray.
Awanen said: “Every year, you have young footballers, some who may not have played club football before itching to be part of Dolphins and this will be their chance.
“A lot of us who played football came out from the grass roots and we want to give others who may be like us a chance and that is why we are holding these open sessions for these youngsters to come out and prove themselves.”
Dolphins opened camp for the new season last week and so far players such as Sunday Rotimi, Udoo Ochiogu, Festus Austin, Echendu Adiele, Emeka Atuloma, Ifeanyi Egwim and Abubarkar Umar have already reported to start the new season.
