PPA to zone Imo governorship seat to Okigwe

The National Chairman of the Progressive Peoples Alliance, Chief Sam Nkire, has said that his party would be sympathetic to aspirants from Okigwe Zone of Imo State during the 2015 governorship election in the state.
Nkire stated this when the new chairman of Imo State chapter of the Progressive Peoples Alliance, Engineer Leo Okereke, paid him a courtesy call in Abuja.
The PPA boss said the party would always adopt the principle of zoning where necessary, adding that it was his personal opinion that the people of Okigwe Zone should be allowed to complete their second term, the first of which former Governor Ikedi Ohakim had done.
It was his opinion that justice could only be done if another son or daughter of Okigwe Zone is given the opportunity to serve another term of four years so that Owerri Zone could serve eight years when it becomes their turn, without challenge.
Nkire congratulated the chairman of Imo PPA over his new assignment and urged him to work for the progress and unity of the party in the state.
Okereke, who was Imo State Chairman of PPA during Ohakim’s regime, promised to take the party to a higher level this second time around.
