Police recover stolen cars, arrest suspect

Policemen attached to the Mile 12 police Post, Lagos State Police Command have recovered a stolen car shortly after it was snatched by suspected armed robbers.
The incident happened on Tuesday about 8pm when the car owner (name withheld) ran to the police post and started screaming that his car, a Honda Baby Boy, MN 106 KJA, was snatched at gun point at Ketu area of the state by four armed robbers.
Following the report, the policemen hurriedly mobilised and mounted a check point under the Mile 12 bridge.
Luck ran out on the armed robbers when they noticed the policemen were out for them.
The robbers were said to have abandoned the car and fled after sighting the policemen.
The car was later driven back to the station and handed over to the owner, who expressed joy at the prompt response of the policemen.
A cut to size locally made gun abandoned by the robbers was recovered by the police.
In another incident, a suspected armed robber was arrested last week after his gang allegedly snatched a Toyota Camry car from Dopemu area of the state.
The suspected robber, along with his gang members, allegedly drove the car to the Agiliti area but abandoned the car after they noticed they were being trailed by the policemen from the Mile 12 Police Post.
One of the armed robbers was arrested while the stolen vehicle was recovered.
The case has been transferred to the State Anti robbery Squad, Ikeja for thorough investigation.
