The Police in Ebonyi State said it was awaiting the report of the autopsy conducted on a banker who died in company of a lady in a hotel room in Abakaliki, the state capital, on Sunday.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Sylvester Igbo, told the News Agency of Nigeria on Tuesday that the autopsy was being conducted by the Federal Teaching Hospital in Abakaliki.
Igbo said: “We have to get the result of the autopsy before determining the next line of action as a case cannot be established against the lady for now.
“The preliminary investigations suggest that the deceased and the lady checked into the hotel to have fun.
“He can be presumed to have died of natural causes except the autopsy proves otherwise.”
According to him, the lady is in police custody helping with investigations into the matter.
Igbo added: “She reported the man’s strange behaviour to the hotel’s management after the sex session.
“The staff members alerted the deceased’s wife through the contact they saw in his phone.
“Before the wife could come with relations, he was already motionless and was taken to a hospital where he was certified dead.”
The banker, Boniface Ndukaku, aged 45, was found dead in a hotel room after a sex bout with a 21-year old lady.
