The Plateau State Police Commissioner, Nasiru Oki, has disclosed that security personnel have been deployed in all the worship places across the state to forestall unpalatable developments during the Christmas celebration.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Abuh Emmanuel, in a press statement warned people of the state not to patronise unregistered amusement and recreational centres.
Abuh quoted Oki as saying the ban on the use and sale of fireworks such as knockouts, bangers and other explosives is still in force.
He said violators will be made to face the full weight of the law, even as he warned against street trading.
He encouraged vehicle owners who will be going to places of worship to park their vehicles at designated points.
He challenged members of the general public to maintain and be security conscious and volunteer dependable information to the police and security agencies for prompt action.
Jos, the state capital, recorded influx of people who came to celebrate in the state.
