A national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Jock Alamba, has expressed disgust over protracted attacks and senseless killings in Plateau State.
Alamba, however, challenge the State Government and the security apparatus taking vigil on the affairs of the state to tighten up efforts in fighting the criminals behind the attacks.
Speaking with our correspondent at his residence along Zaria Road in Jos, the Plateau State capital, the APC stalwart said a situation where criminals are treated with kids gloves is not acceptable.
He said: “You will find out that these attacks have continued since the last regime and impending threat has posed negative danger.
“And this seems to be going on because the security seem to be aiding and abeting criminals.
“We have cases where criminals are arrested with concrete evidences that they actually committed the crimes and yet, they are not punished.
“You still see them on street the next day.
“This has given them the confidence to continue doing the same crime day in day out.”
Alamba cautioned citizens against careless utterances on issues of security as it relates to suspected attackers, stressing such statements sometimes provoke attacks.
Speaking on the ministerial nominees across the country, Alamba described them as worthy nominees, particularly Barrister Solomon Dalung, the Plateau State nominee.
He appealed to the public to shun sentiment in judging the pedigree of the people nominated by President Muhammadu Buhari to serve with him in the desire to fight corruption.
He said President Buhari had proven that even without the cabinet, his firmness, focus and courage were not in doubt.
Alamba said powers comes from God and people should stop complaining at this early stage but give the President the benefit of the doubt that the nominees will not disappoint the country.
