The President of the Senate, Senator David Mark, has again harped on peace, unity and purposeful leadership in the country.
Mark said this when he addressed delegates to the Peoples Democratic Party ward congress in his Otukpo, Benue State Ward 1, that peaceful co-existence and focused leadership were needed to steer the ship of state.
He canvassed for the smooth conduct of the exercise at the ward level, which he described as the foundation for leadership at the national level.
Mark said: “If we get it right at the ward level, you can be sure that leadership at the national level would be right and just.
“Therefore, our officers at the ward level must be dedicated and be men and women of proven integrity.”
The President of the Senate also enjoined all party faithfuls to be guided by the principle of fairness, equity and justice in the election of party officials.
