More details have emerged from the bomb explosion that rocked a church in Potiskum town, Yobe State.
The affected church was a branch of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
The pastor of the church was among the dead.
A woman and her two children, both boys, died in the explosion.
The others who died were another worshipper and the suicide bomber.
The explosion occurred at about 9:30am.
A member of the Nigerian Red Cross who was at the scene of the incident, Hassan Muhammad, said the explosion occurred shortly before the commencement of the service.
Muhammad said the suicide bomber mixed with the congregation as they were entering the church.
He said if the service had been in full swing when the explosive went off, the casualty figure would have been more.
Yobe State has been the scene of several explosions and attacks since dreaded sect, Boko Haram, launched its campaign some years back.
