Panic as ‘Boko Haram’ threatens to bomb Shoprite

The management and staff of one of the chain stores in Lagos State, Shoprite, were thrown into confusion following a bomb scare.
Reports on the social media actually said that the Ajah branch of Shoprite was on fire this week.
But investigations have however revealed that it was not true.
It was discovered that the reported ‘fire’ was one circulated just via social media.
A police source further said: “There was no fire outbreak at Shoprite in Ajah.
“What happened was that some people, who claimed to be Boko Haram members, sent text messages to all Shoprite offices and outlets that their branches would be bombed.
“The text messages clearly caused panic but nothing really happened.
“A few weeks back, such text messages had also been sent to Shoprite, saying that the fruit juice in their outlets would be poisoned and nothing happened.
“Only God knows the next thing the senders would come up with.
