The All Progressives Congress in Osun State has debunked the alleged crisis within the party ahead of the 2026 governorship election in the state.
The party spoke on Thursday in a statement issued by its Chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, in Osogbo, the state capital.
The party urged members to discountenance fabricated stories by faceless groups where it was alleged that there was a crisis within the party in respect of the 2026 governorship election candidature.

Lawal described the stories as the handiwork of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in the state.
He stated that the PDP had become jittery in recent times because of the rising profile of the APC in Osun State.
He added that the APC would not have dignified the PDP handlers with a response, but it was sufficient to state that the two stories were mere propaganda by the party.
“Those behind the hatchet job have failed woefully in their mission to cause disaffection and rancour within the APC in Osun,” he stressed.
Reacting to the allegation by the APC, the State Chairman of the PDP, Sunday Bisi, said his his party should not be dragged into the crisis within the fold of the opposition.
Bisi enjoined the APC to face its divided house and not drag the PDP into its reported battle over the governorship ticket.
He said: “The public is aware of the battle within the APC; it is none of our business in Osun PDP.
“We know there is no vacancy at the Osun Government House, come 2026.”
A story has been circulating in the social media by a group in the APC opposed to the aspiration of the immediate past governor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, for the party’s 2026 governorship ticket.
The group, according to the story, supports either Senator Ajibola Basiru, APC’s National Secretary, or Lekan Badmus, Executive Director of Marine Operations at the Nigerian Ports Authority, to run for the governorship election.
