The Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, has promised 100 per cent support for Governor Rauf Aregbesola’s second term ambition.
Sijuwade made the promise when the governor, during his campaign, paid a courtesy visit on him in Ile-Ife on Tuesday,.
The royal father said he decided to support Aregbesola because of the projects executed by his administration in Ile-Ife and the state in less than three years.
The monarch added that there had not been a governor who demonstrated as much love for people of Ife as Aregbesola had done.
Sijuwade stated that Aregbesola merited the second term in office because of the lofty achievements of his administration never experienced in the history of Ifeland and Osun State as a whole.
Meanwhile, Senator Babajide Omoworare (APC-Osun East) urged the people of Ife and Osun State as a whole to support the governor’s bid.
Omoworare said allowing Aregbesola to rule the state again would enable the him to complete all the projects he embarked upon.
He said that the second term of Aregbesola, if allowed to materialise, would mean more dividends of democracy for the people.
Adelowo Adebiyi, the Acting Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, appealed to the people of the state to “hearken to the voice of wisdom from Oba Sijuwade”.
Adebiyi added that the endorsement of Aregbesola for a second term in office by Ooni meant that the traditional institution in the state had appreciated the development projects executed by his administration.
Aregbesola said the achievements of his administration included implementation of its six-point Integral Action plan.
The plan, he added, had created a robust opportunity for the people in education, health, agriculture among others, thus putting smiles on the faces of the people.
He also said his administration constructed 50.7km road and distributed “1,400 e-tablets” and free uniforms to students in Ile-Ife.
According to him, his administration has rehabilitated and remodeled schools from primary to tertiary levels, built many hospitals and empowered youths among others.
Aregbesola promised that he would not disappoint the people if voted for second term in office.
