Bobby Decordova-Reid’s finish and a wonder strike from Ola Aina saw Fulham finally get their Premier League campaign off the mark with a 2-0 victory over West Brom at Craven Cottage.
Scott Parker’s men were without a win in six matches prior to the Monday evening clash but they were worthy winners as the Baggies slumped to their fourth defeat of the campaign.
The hosts took a well-deserved lead in the 26th minute after Antonee Robinson fired in a cross from the left to an unmarked Aleksandar Mitrovic at the far post, who nodded across goal before the ball was turned in by Decordova-Reid.
Minutes later, Fulham doubled their lead through Aina, who thundered the ball past Sam Johnstone from the edge of the box into the top corner.
And despite a spirited effort from Slaven Bilic’s men, the two first-half strikes were ultimately enough to settle the encounter and continue West Brom’s miserable start to the season.
