The Ogun Police Command has confirmed the death of two persons in Itori, under Ewekoro local government area of the State.
The Command’s Spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola in a press statement signed Tuesday explained that the two drowned last Sunday after going for swimming. The two, Femi Akintola and Tunde Falade the statement indicated came from Lagos for inauguration of a Church.

Odutola said: “The two persons drowned were later identified as Femi Akinola “m” aged 32yrs of Odo Eran Itire Lagos State and Tunde Falade “m” aged 35yrs of Kola Alagbado in Lagos, after they were rescued from the heavy tides. They were rushed to the Health Center in Itori where they were unfortunately confirmed dead by a medical doctor on duty.
“The Divisional Police Officer CSP Olayemi Jacob detailed his team to visit the scene upon receipt of the report, he ascertained that there were no marks of violence and no foul play suspected. Their remains have since been evacuated to IFO General hospital for autopsy reports and later deposited in the same morgue”.
Meanwhile, the State’s Commissioner Abiodun Alamutu has sent his deepest condolences to the families of deceased during this difficult time, assuring that the Command remains committed to promoting public safety and preventing such tragedies in the future.
Alamutu however warned youths to steer clear of rivers whose depth or tides they cannot ascertain.
