The Northern States Governors Forum has bemoaned Thursday’s bomb blast which killed 19 people and injured several others in Nyanya, a suburb of Abuja.
The Chairman of the forum and Governor of Niger State, Dr. Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu, expressed shock at the incident, which occurred opposite Nyanya Motor Park, where a similar tragedy took place two weeks ago
“The Northern States Governors Forum is pained that the latest blast is coming at a time when the federal and state governments were putting all measures in place to end the menace of insecurity in the nation,” Aliyu said in a statement signed by his spokesman, Danladi Ndayebo.
The Forum commiserated with the families of those killed in the blast and promised that it will continue to contribute its quota to ensure that peace returns to the nation.
Aliyu said the governors remain firm, focused and would continue to support security agencies in the discharge of their responsibility of protecting lives and property of citizens
He prayed God to grant the souls of those killed in the blast eternal rest and their families the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
