Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State has written to the state House of Assembly asking it to confirm the suspension of the Chairman of Guyuk Local Government Area, Ethan Bugie, for alleged misconduct.
The governor’s letter, read by the Speaker, Hon. Ahmadu Fintiri, oat Monday’s plenary session, requested for the confirmation of the suspension as provided under the Adamawa Local Government System Establishment and Administration Law 2,000 (as amended).
“I hereby wish to inform and seek the confirmation of the honourable House to suspend the Chairman of Guyuk local government, Mr. Ethan Bugie, due to gross misconduct,” the letter stated.
After reading it, Fintiri referred it to the House Committee on Local Governments for further investigation, following a motion to that effect by the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Laori Kwamoti (PDP-Numan).
The motion was unanimously adopted by members.
Fintiri later adjourned sitting to Tuesday.
