The embattled Governor of Adamawa State, Alhaji Murtala Nyako, has been removed from office.
The state House of Assembly effected Nyako’s removal on Tuesday.
The action followed the consideration of the report of the investigative panel that probed allegations of misappropriation of funds against Nyako and his deputy, Bala Ngilari.
Ngilari had earlier in the day resigned.
The duo were found culpable by the seven-man panel set up by the Adamawa State Chief Judge based on the request of the House of Assembly.
The situation in the state is said to be tensed, especially in Yola, the state capital.
Security operatives are said to be stationed in strategic places, especially the roads leading to the state House of Assembly.
More details soon.
