Nwofor joins Herenveen on loan

Nigerian striker, Uche Nwofor, has made the move from relegated VVV Venlo to Eredivisie side SC Herenveen on loan for the season.
The 21-year-old, fresh from scoring a brace against South Africa in the Nelson Mandela Challenge on August 14, was a target for clubs in both Turkey and Russia, but opted to continue his promising career in the Netherlands.
He joins a side managed by legendary Dutch striker, Marco van Basten, and Nwofor revealed his delight at being given the chance to work with the 1988 European Championship winner.
He said: “I am happy.
“This is an opportunity to further improve my development as a player.
“I want to continue my football education in Holland and I believe I am at the right club.
“I’m excited and looking forward to working under Marco van Basten.
“I believe as striker I will learn a lot from him.”
