The Nigerian Stock Exchange market indices on Thursday posted a marginal growth of 0.13 per cent, after a three consecutive day bearish run.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the market capitalisation rose by N11 billion to close at N8.938 trillion against N8.927 trillion achieved on Wednesday.
In the same vein, the All-Share Index increased marginally by 32.69 points or 0.13 per cent to close at 25,936.24 compared with the opening figure of 25,903.55.
Guinness topped the gainers’ table for the day with N2.58 to close at N63.53 per share.
Mobil Oil followed with a gain of 99k to close at N276.99 and Stanbic IBTC gained 50k to close at N17.80 per share.
Unilever appreciated by 27k to close at N34, while Oando added 22k to close at N4.78 per share.
Conversely, major petroleum equities topped the laggards’ table which was led by Total with a loss of N10 to close at N268 per share.
Forte Oil came second with a loss of N6.59 to close at N61.07 and UACN depreciated by 51k to close at N15.99 per share.
Nigerian Breweries lost 31k to close at N134.54 and UAC Property went down by 27k to close at N2.61 per share.
NAN reports that the Financial Services Industry remained the toast of investors with Continental Insurance accounting for 203.41 million shares worth N335.39 million.
Staco Insurance followed with an exchange of 20 million shares valued at N10 million and Zenith Bank traded 18.67 million shares worth N290.96 million.
Diamond Bank transacted 11.86 million shares valued at N10.97 million, while Fidelity Bank sold 11.22 million shares worth N9.99 million.
In all, the volume of transacted closed upbeat with a turnover of 354.56 million shares valued at N1.72 billion against 305.02 million shares worth N1.57 billion achieved in 2,620 deals on Wednesday.
