The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Jigawa State on Saturday said it had arrested two suspected drug peddlers in the state.
The Commandant of NSCDC in the state, Muhammad Gidado, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital, that the suspects were arrested on Friday in Hadejia Local Government Area.
Gidado said that the suspects, whose identities he did not disclose, were arrested at Agumau Gidan Cinema in Hadejia town around 11.45pm.
He explained that the suspects were arrested with several tubes of rubber solution, diazapam tablets and wraps of Indian hemp.
The commandant said that the suspects had confessed to using, supplying, selling and distributing of all kinds of hard drugs in the area and other parts of the state.
According to him, the suspects would be handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency for further action
