Notts sweat on Ameobi

Kevin Nolan should find out if Shola Ameobi will be available for Saturday’s game with Swindon Town.

The Nigerian missed the 4-1 win over Morecambe on Boxing Day with knocks but Nolan has been monitoring his fitness over the last two days.

Notts will be hoping to build on the victory at the Globe Arena to further entrench their position in the top three of League Two.

“I am hoping Ameobi will be available,” he told the Nottingham Post.

“We are hopeful he will be back but, as you saw against Morecambe, the lad did a fantastic job.”
