Yemisi Bamigboye, the President of the Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers Union, on Tuesday said there was no going back on the union’s three days warning strike.
Bamigboye stated this in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos.
According to him, the strike will commence on Wednesday.
“Our warning strike is on course and nothing has suggested otherwise,” the RATTAWU boss said.
The union is protesting against the non-implementation of Weigh-in Allowance and non-implementation of Media Salary Structure for it members.
It is also protesting against government’s refusal to chart clear road map and attempt to digitalise broadcast sector hurriedly without due process and adequate legislative backing.
The union also accused government of planning to retrench workers under the guise of digitalisation and refusal to grant the sector the right to collect radio and televison rates, among others.
