Bendel Insurance FC of Benin on Friday consolidated their promotion aspiration to the Nigerian Football Premier League with a home victory over Vandrezzer FC of Lagos.
Insurance pipped their visitors 1-0 in the week 22 match of the Nigerian National League to end their campaign at the second tier league on a good note.
Benjamin Tanimu scored the only goal in the 45 minute of the play via a spot kick, after his teammate was brought down in the 18 yard box.
Several efforts to double the lead were denied by the resilient Lagos team.
Insurance amassed 49 points from the 22 matches following the victory.
