NiMet predicts reduced visibility, dust haze atmosphere for Thursday

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency has predicted reduced visibility of less than 1000m over the central States such as Abuja, Minna, Kaduna, Lafia, Jos, Makurdi, Lokoja and Bida on Thursday.
NiMet made the prediction in the Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Wednesday.
It added that the region would have day and night temperature of 28 to 36 degrees Celsius and 10 to 19 degrees Celsius, respectively.
The agency predicted that the Southern states would experience dust haze with visibility values less than 2000m over Benin, Asaba, Ibadan, Lagos, Owerri, Enugu and Akure.
It also predicted that the region would have day and night temperatures of 34 to 35 degrees and 16 to 23 degrees Celsius, respectively.
According to NiMet, northern states will experience thick dust haze with visibilities less than 1000m over Katsina, Maiduguri, Kano, Gusau, Nguru and Bauchi during the forecast period.
NiMet predicted: “The region will have day and night temperatures of 30 to 34 degrees Celsius and 11 to 19 degrees Celsius, respectively.
“Fresh dust has been raised from the Source region this is expected to deteriorate visibilities across the country especially over the North eastern parts.”
