Bob Nosa, a Nigerian visual artist, on Monday said he would be proffering solutions to societal problems during his forthcoming residency programme slated for Argentina.
Nosa told the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos that he would rely on his 19 years of experience to achieve that aim while in Argentina.
He said that he would use his artistic training and knowledge to proffer solutions to areas such as environmental pollution, loss of agricultural lands, human rights.
He said that the two-week programme with the theme: “Challenging inhumanity: Bob Nosa” would hold from April 2, 2019.
He said: “As a Nigerian artist, I will be proffering solutions to most of the societal problems, as they affect Argentina, my host country.’’
He said that he would be a guest of the government of Argentina during the period.
He said that this was because his would be host believed that the art sector is one of the agents of social change.
He said: “I will also be addressing poor leadership which almost every country suffers from; this entails selflessness, dedication as solutions.’’
Nosa said his choice of art had impacted on people’s lives positively due to the strong morals they convey to their viewers.
He added that he intended to impact similar effects in Argentina so that it could make some remarkable and positive differences in its economy and individual lives.
The artist said that he would also be working on cultural exchange programmes with most of Argentina’s visual artists in order to have an infusion of cultures from both countries.
He said: “I intend studying Argentina’s kind of arts, culture, economic situation and all to be able to know areas I can work on.
“At the end of the residency, I will be working with quite a number of their artists so that we can initiate some cultural exchange programmes for artists from both countries.”
