The endorsement of Governor Muazu Babangida Aliyu by the Peoples Democratic Party Zone B for the senatorial race in 2015 has been scuttled with the entry of an Abuja-based politician and former federal Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Idris Adamu Kuta, into the contest.
The aspirant submitted his nomination form on Thursday at the party’s secretariat.
Kuta insisted he was eminently qualified to vie for the position despite the seeming endorsement of the governor.
He said that his entrance into the race should not be misconstrued as fighting the governor but should be seen as a move to cover more grounds for the zone.
He said that his aim was to integrate the zone and build on achievement already recorded for the development of the zone at the Senate by collaborating with necessary people and body considering his experience as a retire Federal Permanent Secretary.
Kuta said: “In PDP, we don’t fight anybody.
“The governor is my brother and friend.
“I am appealing to him to give me a chance because he has already spent eight years as governor and he should allow me.”
Kuta said the most important thing was to ensure peace in Nigeria and integrate all groups and also ensure development, pledging that he will use his experience as a public administrator in the Senate to achieve these targets.
