NFF presidency: Mike Umeh eventually cleared to battle Giwa

The Acting President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Chief Mike Umeh, has been cleared to contest the presidential election of the Federation.
Umeh, who protested his earlier inclusion by the initial electoral committee for the election, was cleared by the appeal committee, headed by Dotun Coker, on Saturday.
The initial committee denied Umeh the opportunity to contest because he converted his intent form for the position of the vice president to the position of the president.
The former Acting Secretary General of the NFF, Lawrence Aitken, confirmed the development.
With the clearance of Umeh, he will now face the owner of Giwa FC of Jos, Chris Giwa.
The election is slated for August 26, 2014.
